Meeting Objectives

At present, one of the most exciting activities in radiation oncology is the implementation of magnetic resonance imaging in the radiotherapy workflow as well as a tool for prediction and interactive follow-up during treatment. The meeting MR in Radiotherapy, MRinRT, is an international workshop, which focus on the latest developments on this topic This is the third workshop following two successful meetings, the last one in St Louis, MI 2014. This will be the first time the meeting will take place outside the US.

The implementation of MR to radiation therapy is driven by the possibilities the superior soft tissue contrast enable for treatment planning and the MR-derived functional information such as perfusion and diffusion with the potential to predict outcome and impact individualized treatments.
This workshop dedicated to radiation oncology professionals will enable a deeper understanding of the fundamentals, benefits, and potential limitations of MRI, and at the current nascent stage of broad adoption. It is critical to provide a dedicated forum where advanced research can be discussed and common solutions debated and discussed. Major foci of the workshop will include:

  • Educational sessions (technology, sequence optimization etc)
  • Image-Guided Radiation Therapy with MR
  • Functional and anatomical MR for target definition and response assessment
  • Integration of MR in RT workflows
  • QA aspects of MR inRT
